Most scientists are quick to acknowledge that there are many things they don’t know, and many things they can’t know for certain. In science we are always gathering new data and evidence, and we know that our conclusions may end up needing to be adjusted in the future. Unfortunately, many people in society prefer to cling tightly to their beliefs and refuse to consider that they may be mistaken. They don’t even want to be told if there is evidence that contradicts what they “know” is right. This is a truly dangerous way of approaching the world.
