Design Release – “Does the moon also fall?” Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton was born on December 25th, 1642. He made numerous contributions to science throughout his life, including discovering the laws of motion and inventing calculus. The story of his witnessing a falling apple and wondering “Does the moon also fall?” is well known. Realizing that the same force that makes apples fall might be holding the moon in orbit was just the beginning of Newton’s work on gravity and the laws of motion. This design features a page of notes and equations taken straight from Newton’s extensive papers, which are available from the University of Cambridge Digital Library. Available now in our online store!
